H*VENT Laminar Vented Chest Dressing” is a unique multidirectional ventilated dressing. This design allows fluids to "drain under the force of gravity", in which case the victim can be transported in a side-lying position.

Tests have shown that during inhalation, the tightness of the dressing is maintained by maintaining a sustained negative pressure (below ambient pressure) in the pleural cavity.
