Do you know why brightly colored tourniquets are used in civilian settings? There are several reasons: Scientific research shows that brightly colored objects enhance a person's subjective state of alertness in the presence of fatigue or stress, making them easier to see or distinguish from other objects. Tourniquets applied to an injured person can sometimes be harder to spot due to darkness, blood, dirt, or clothing, so it is crucial that they are as easily identifiable and noticeable as possible and not left on the injured person longer than necessary. In civilian aid, bright orange is most commonly used. Another reason is to distinguish the purpose of tourniquets.

Important! Remember that a tourniquet is a single-use device, so if a tourniquet has been used for training, it is no longer suitable for real cases.
